The Beech Tree
The early craftsmanship can still be seen coupled with modern comforts.It is set in its grounds with extensive parking facilities, large gardens, and sitting areas. It is located in the village with direct access to village amenities as well as to the lush green countryside. The Lakes offers glorious mountain scenery with rushing streams and placid lakes and provides the ideal base for walking, climbing, jogging, fell running, rowing, sailing, cycling, mountain biking, and fishing, etc. As a center for walking or mountain biking, it can’t be compared. Five different mountain bike routes start in Coniston together with uncountable walks.
The Beech Tree
The Beech Tree is an inviting and friendly house perfect for large groups of nature lovers. Most of the house was built in the late 18 century from its oak trees and local stone.
Facilities
The kitchen offers a cooker, 2 ovens, a dishwasher, and a microwave. A washing machine, a tumble drier are in a utility room.
- The dining room sits up to 18 people.
- 2 sitting rooms each comfortably sitting around 8 people.
- TV and radio are available.

Garden

Entrance hall
You enter the Beech Tree through a large bright entrance hall with attractively tiled floors. In front of you is the main staircase lit up by a long 2-meter high window overlooking a very special, totally natural rock garden. To the right of the hall is the smaller of two dining areas and to the left the first of two lounges.
Lounges
Also called the blue room with its tradition - going back a long time - of being decorated with blue china plates. In the centre of the room there is a wooden stove
Dining room
The dining rooms offer space on two to three tables for up to 20 people. The gardens stretch around it and there is a patio to the front where people can also sit out on a nice day.
Second Lounge
The second of two lounges offer a comfortable setting to read, watch TV or to play games. Many popular games are on offer. Of course there is also a games room.
Play Room
This large play area ( just enlarged through removal of store room - January 2021)is a room that is separated from the rest of the house by very thick walls and can be used for people to enjoy themselves without disturbing the rest of the household. There is a billiard table in the room.
The Kitchen
This new kitchen (January 2021) offers a cooker, two ovens, dishwasher, microwave and all pots and plates for a large group. Tea towels are provided plus an emergency supply of bin bags, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll and washing up liquid.
